Be ye kind one to another tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.
What is kindness?
Kindness is treating other the way you would like to be treated.
Are kindness and forgiveness the same?
It is kind to forgive, but not all kindness is forgiveness.
Why or why not?
When we forgive, we are not only being kind to the offender, but we are also sparing ourselves from becoming bitter and unlikable in the future.
How are they different?
Kindness if an act of selflessness. Forgiving is not condoning a person’s actions, but in spite of their actions, making the effort to forgive them. Some forgiveness is not possible except through Christ’s supernatural ability to impute his forgiveness through you. It must be asked for by the believer of the Father.
Why should we be kind to family members and not just friends?
We are to be kind to and forgive everyone. Family are the ones we open ourselves up to the most, and the ones who are the hardest to forgive. In order to have working relationships with our family members we must forgive…daily if necessary.
What are some of the benefits of being kind to family members?
Unity, harmony. Being able to say, “Hey Mom, can you take the kids this weekend?” Also to be able to model to your children how to forgive, and how to treat family members. Also for those family members who are not saved, this shows them of the power of the cross.
Give one example of how being kind has resulted positively in one of your relationship with someone close.
What does kill them with kindness mean?
Jesus said to go the extra mile. Why?
Jesus said if a man hits you on one cheek, turn the other to him to slap. Why do you think he said that?
Are we raising kind children?
What example have they seen in your life of kindness to others?
Are we kind to the telemarketer?
Are we kind to the person at the bank when we have a mishap?
How do our children see us being unkind?
